The new UK Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure Act (PSTI) comes into effect on 29 April 2024. Manufacturers of consumer connectable products (also called IoT devices) must comply with the security requirements laid out in the Act. The PSTI Act’s goal is to ensure that consumer connectable products are more secure against cyber-attacks. The new regulations provide a set of security measures to ensure more protection against the threats of cybercrime as: • Avoid the use of default passwords • Improve the reporting of security issues.
